The devastating impact of Tropical Cyclone Alfred led to widespread flooding across Northern NSW due to which many families across this Region are struggling to access essential supplies. In response, we reached out to our service partner, the NSW Aboriginal Land Council, who highlighted the urgent need for essential items such as non perishable food, personal hygiene, cleaning & sanitation items and baby items including formulas, diapers & baby food.
With Swami's Grace and continued generosity of our members, approximately 4 tonnes of these items were hand delivered by our volunteers to the communities of Maclean, Wardell, Coraki & Yamba.
The volunteers who started at 3.00AM in the morning made a round trip of more than 24 hours straight from Sydney, to ensure these much needed essentials are delivered on time to these communities. We are very grateful to the members of NSW region who despite a short turnaround time of just 2 days managed to come forward with their generous support.
